The Courageous Steps Project is gearing up for a busy stretch of events in August.
On Wednesday August 2, please stop by The Courageous Steps Project at Governor’s Restaurant in Old Town for their fourth annual back-to-school drive from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The organization will also have a location at Governor’s Restaurant in Ellsworth from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
The organization hope to collect supplies for 30-plus schools for Eastern Maine’s Hancock and Penobscot counties. These schools will receive at least 2 boxes of supplies for staff to distribute to the students in need of supplies.
The organization is looking for monetary donations to help with purchasing supplies, as well as supply donations. Supply donations include: notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, backpacks, lunch Boxes, folders, and more.
There are bin locations throughout the Old Town region including, Bangor Savings Bank branches in Old Town & Orono, Penobscot County Federal Credit Union branches in Bangor & Old Town, and Governor’s Restaurant in Old Town.
Supplies will be delivered in mid August to Eastern Maine schools.
Other upcoming events for the organization include a benefit dinner scheduled for Tuesday, August 8 from 4-8 p.m. at Governor’s Restaurant in Old Town, where 15 percent of all take-out meals and in-house meals will benefit the organization’s endeavors. A Thirty One catalog fundraiser will take place from Sunday, August 6 to Tuesday August 15 where 20-25 percent of each order placed from that event will also benefit Courageous Steps endeavors.
