Trees from the Orono Town Nursery will be available this spring to Orono residents at no cost.
All trees will be planted by the Tree Board. All trees must be planted in the public domain (i.e. on land along the streets owned and maintained by the town). Trees are available on a first come, first served basis.
Orono residents interested in having trees planted in front of their homes or local businesses should call the Town Office and leave their name and address. All tree sites will have to be assessed by the Tree Board to assure adequate space and no overhead wires. Where there are wires, shrubs or slow growing trees may be able to be planted.
Residents will be called by a Tree Board member to discuss the type of trees available and best suited for the site.
