Old Town and Orono police logs for Aug. 30-Sept. 4
At 7 p.m. on Sept. 2, Officer Tyler Young responded to a complaint of a domestic altercation at a home on High Street. A man who was at the residence, Christopher Hathorn, 32, of Bangor, was allegedly violating a protective order which prohibited him from being there. Young issued Hathorn a summons for the offense with an Oct. 8 court date.
Around 1 a.m. on Sept. 2, police went to Kelley Road after receiving a report that a car had crashed into a ditch and the driver was trying to leave the scene. James Garrity, 18, of Hampden was uninjured and alone in the vehicle. Officers allegedly smelled alcohol on Garrity and had him do a field sobriety test. He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license because license restrictions prohibit minors from drinking and driving. Garrity was later released from the police station with an Oct. 22 court date.
Between Sept. 2 and Sept. 3, police issued charges to four underage people allegedly attempting to purchase alcohol from Circle K on Main Street. Elena Maturo, 19, of Connecticut, Antonio Centrella, 20, of Massachusetts and Reign Bagudu, 18, of Saco were each given a court summons on charges of possession of a false identification on separate occasions. Police also issued a summons to Parker Swanson, 18, of Orono on a charge of attempting to purchase alcohol as a minor. All four are due in court Oct. 22 for their respective charges.
