Join in the fun Saturday, August 1, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Maine Forest and Logging Museum in Bradley for Heavy Metal. Lots of metal – the Lombard log hauler on steam and sparks flying at the anvils. In between – machinery of all sorts. Maybe yours!

We would like those who are interested to bring your old make-and-breaks, homemade splitters, portable mills, woods vehicles (show us how you haul wood!), interesting trucks and tractors. Call so we can save a place for your wicked cool stuff. You also can reserve a space for $25 at our first-ever truck load tool sale. Park your truck or car and sell tools and machinery parts and pieces.

The museum has two very rare working Lombard steam log haulers. One will be running on steam. The Lombard steam log hauler was invented and built between 1901 and 1917 in Waterville, Maine. It was the first successful tracked vehicle and led the way for modern construction, military, and recreational tracked vehicles.

There also will be portable forges to try out, and liive entertainment by the Freshly Cut Grass bluegrass band and Gary Shaffer.

Contact Sherry@maineforestandloggingmuseum.org or call 974-6278 to reserve space. Admission for this event will be $10 for adults, $5 for children.
