Matt Reading of Old Town Fire and Rescue said they received over 20 calls between 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday reporting damage. He said ongoing issues Friday afternoon continued to be blocked roads and wire problems due to downed trees.
5 years ago Alton juveniles charged in connection with thefts from mailboxes Over the past two months, the Maine State Police and Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office received calls from Alton residents reporting missing packages, said Cpl. Ryan Fitch of the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office. Police found the majority of the missing packages in addition to unreported thefts with mailing addresses for Bennoch Road and surrounding side streets.
5 years ago Three candidates running for two seats on Old Town City Council The terms of Incumbents Carol May and Janet Klitch are expiring in December and they are both running again. Timothy Folster, chairman of the city’s LLC economic development board, is hoping to serve on the council for the first time. Each term lasts for three years and there’s no limit to how many times a council member can run, said city clerk Dana Sibley.
