Hockey playoff moved back a day due to predicted storm
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Due to the impending snow storm in Aroostook County Wednesday, the Class B North hockey championship game scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, has been moved to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the University of Maine.
The No. 4 Presque Isle Wildcats face off against No. 2 Old Town-Orono for the Class B North crown. Both squads are 14-5-1 overall on the season.
The Black Bears advanced to the championship game after defeating No. 6 Messalonskee, 6-5, Friday, Feb. 28, in the semifinals, while the Wildcats beat No. 1 Hampden Academy 4-1 Saturday, Feb. 29.
The two squads met once in the regular season with the Black Bears beating Presque Isle 12-5 Feb. 17.
