Old Town

Old Town police log

Around noon on Dec. 20, Officer Joseph Decoteau responded to a call at 165 Brunswick St. for a report of disorderly conduct. Decoteau warned the occupant to turn down his music after a neighbor complained. After Decoteau left, the neighbor reported a second time that the occupant was swearing at him and threatening to beat him up. He returned and charged Dennis McPheters, 63, of Old Town with disorderly conduct. At 6 p.m. the same night, the department received another report from the neighbor, alleging that McPheters was yelling at him out the window and threatening to beat him up again. Officers arrested McPheters and charged him with criminal threatening. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail where he was released the following morning. McPheters is expected to appear in court for both charges on Jan. 23, 2020.

At 11 p.m. on Dec. 22, Officer Lucas Murphy pulled over 32-year-old Anthony Vietti of Old Town after watching him purchase alcohol at the Freshies convenience store in Milford. Vietti was on bail conditions that prohibited him from purchasing alcohol at the time. Vietti allegedly told Murphy that he’d bought three cans of Natty Ice from the store. Murphy issued him a summons for violating his bail conditions.

On Dec. 24 around 10 a.m., Officer Alicia Canwell was conducting a routine traffic patrol when she discovered that a person in a passing vehicle had a suspended license. Canwell pulled over the vehicle and issued Nina Theriault, 58, of Old Town a summons for operating a motor vehicle after license suspension. Theriault’s license was suspended for operating a motor vehicle while  under the influence a couple years prior. She’s due in court on Jan. 23, 2020.
