This week in sports: Oct. 19-24

FOOTBALL: Old Town beat out the Hampden Broncos in a 24-12 match on Monday night. The Coyotes took home victory again on Friday night with a 44-14 win against the Brewer Witches. Old Town is scheduled to play Bucksport at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.

SOCCER: The Coyotes boys varsity team lost 4-2 to the Hampden Broncos and the junior varsity gave up a 3-1 game Monday, Oct. 19. Both teams faced losses again Wednesday against the Brewer Witches, with the varsity team putting up one point against Brewer’s six. The junior varsity also lost 4-1.

The Orono girls team beat out Old Town in a 1-0 win on their home turf Thursday night.  

Orono boys shut out Old Town with a 5-0 win Friday night. The Red Riots’ junior varsity team came away with a 2-1 win in a shortened game later that night.

The Old Town boys varsity team tied the Hermon Hawks 2-2 during their home match on Saturday afternoon. The junior varsity team also tied 3-3. The girls varsity team lost 6-2, with junior varsity losing 3-1. 

FIELD HOCKEY: The Coyotes shut out the John Bapst Crusaders Tuesday, Oct. 20, in a 3-0 win. The junior varsity team also came away with a 8-0 win over the Crusaders. The Red Riots and Coyotes faced off Thursday afternoon, ending the game in a 1-1 tie.

The Coyotes will play Hermon beginning at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.
