Veazie police looking for theft suspect

VEAZIE, Maine — Veazie Police are looking for a person who has allegedly stolen outdoor cameras from a residence recently, and who may also be tied to a string of property thefts and damage around town.

In the last month, police have received nearly a dozen complaints about someone stealing or damaging presidential campaign lawn signs in town — particularly around the Chase Road neighborhood — although police think there’s more that haven’t been reported, Chief Mark Leonard said Monday.

Police received the first report of theft on June 12. “They’ve been pretty significant,” Leonard said about the thefts.

The suspect also apparently took three outdoor cameras from a residence on July 17, but missed others which caught footage of the incident.

Leonard didn’t release much identifying information of the suspect Monday, but said police think he was wearing Nike Air Jordan 4 sneakers in the video.

Anyone with information can contact the Veazie Police Department at 207-947-2358.
