A note to readers

The Weekly newspaper produced by the Bangor Daily News is merging with the Penobscot Times beginning with the issue of Aug. 27.

The expanded version of The Penobscot Times will have a new look, featuring a taller broadsheet design rather than the tabloid format you have been receiving. It will be packed with news, information and advertising of interest to readers in the Old Town/Orono area and across southern Penobscot County.

It will be mailed free of charge to readers in Bangor, Brewer, Glenburn, Hampden, Hermon, Old Town, Orono, Indian Island and Veazie. Anyone living outside of those towns will need to subscribe.

Current subscribers to The Penobscot Times in those cities and towns listed above will receive a refund or credit to their Bangor Daily News account in the next few weeks.
